ACT, SAT & Other Testing
College admissions testing can be one piece of the college application process. The ACT and SAT are designed to measure skills in areas such as reading, writing, mathematics, and problem-solving and can provide colleges with additional information about a student’s academic preparation. Although less popular, the CLT (Classic Learning Test) is also another standardized test option that students can explore.
Not every college requires standardized test score for admission. Many colleges have adopted test-optional policies, which means students may choose whether to submit their scores as part of their application. However, testing policies vary by college and can change from year to year. Students should research the current testing policy for each college they are considering and determine whether submitting scores may be beneficial for their individual circumstances.
Whether or not you plan to take the ACT or SAT, it is important to understand your options, be aware of testing timelines, and make informed decisions based on the colleges you are considering.
